Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. seeks an Electrical Systems Design Engineer for our Greenville, NC WPDC. You will define vehicle electrical architecture, develop harness designs, and integrate hardware with software to deliver high‑quality forklift systems.

You will work with NX CAD, CAN networks, and BOMs, leading bring‑up, validation, and manufacturing support to ensure robust, cost‑effective electrical distribution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in wire harness design for industrial vehicles or similar sectors
• Bachelor’s degree in EE/ME or related STEM field
• Proficiency with CAD/PLM tools and electrical standards

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain vehicle electrical architecture and power distribution systems.
• Create 2D schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnect diagrams; experience with NX preferred.
• Route harnesses in 3D using CAD to ensure proper bend radii and clearance from heat sources.
• Select components (connectors, terminals, seals, shielding) by environmental factors and EMI/EMC requirements.
• Lead electrical system bring-up phases for prototype vehicles, perform bench testing and validation.
• Draft BOMs and 2D formboards to ensure cost‑effective installation on production lines.
