Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc., a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, is seeking an Electrical Systems Design Engineer based at the Greenville, NC WPDC. You will design and integrate electrical systems spanning from architecture to packaging to meet customer needs and enable high-quality forklift trucks.

The role covers wiring harness design, 2D schematics, 3D routing, component selection, and electrical bring-up for prototypes, collaborating across engineering,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field.
• 3+ years of experience in wire harness design for industrial vehicles, automotive, or aerospace applications.
• Proficiency in CAD and PLM tools with understanding of electrical standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain vehicle-level electrical architecture and requirements.
• Create 2D schematics, wiring diagrams (WID), and Block Interconnect Diagrams (BID).
• Route harnesses in 3D using CAD (NX preferred) with attention to bend radii and clearance.
• Select connectors, terminals, seals, and shielding based on IP, EMI/EMC, and vibration.
• Lead electrical system bring-up for prototype vehicles, bench testing, and grounding.
• Draft 2D formboards and BOMs for cost-effective production.
