Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Mechanical Assembler/Switchboard Technician for its Switchboard Satellite Operation. This role involves assembling wiring panels and sub-assemblies per drawings and specifications, testing to ensure electrical/mechanical integrity, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will use hand and power tools to mount components, inspect finished products, and participate in process improvements. Overtime, teamwork, and strict adherence to safety protocols are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in an assembly related role with the use of hand and/or power tools or completion of a one-year Technical School diploma from an accredited institution.
• Two years of hands-on experience with low-voltage and control-voltage wiring, including point-to-point wiring, panel wiring, and control circuits.
• Knowledge of wiring diagrams, schematics, and power flow to install correct wires.
• Ability to read front views, one-line diagrams, and bills of material.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wiring panels and sub-assemblies that mount in switchboards to customer specification based on electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions with hand and power tools.
• Inspect and test finished products to maintain quality standards and ensure conformance with specifications and codes.
• Use various tools including wire strippers and pliers to perform electrical wiring assembly of switchboards and sub-assemblies.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and complete root cause analysis.
• Maintain health and safety practices and participate in 5S activities.
