Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification.
• 7-10 years industrial electrical experience, with 3-5 years in supervision.
• Knowledge of MCCs, VFDs, MV switchgear, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
• Working knowledge of MSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and NEC code requirements.
• MSHA Part 48 training current or obtainable during onboarding.
• Ability to lead a crew and make decisions under pressure, including off-hours.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily electrical crew work.
• Assign work orders based on priority; adjust staffing for outages and emergencies.
• Perform coaching, evaluate performance, and assist hiring with HR.
• Identify skill gaps; arrange technical training (MCC, VFD, PLC basics).
• Maintain safety culture; enforce LOTO, arc flash, and confined space rules.
• Ensure reliable operation of MCCs, VFDs, switchgear, transformers, and panels.
• Oversee instrumentation/controls maintenance with process/controls team.
• Minimize downtime via preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
• Support mill construction/commissioning with electrical system readiness.
• Manage site electrical infrastructure including power distribution and backup systems.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized work.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and support shutdown planning.
