Job summary

City of New York’s NYC Health Department seeks a Supervisor Electrician, Bureau of Operations, to supervise electricians and staff, oversee installation, repair and wiring of building systems, and ensure compliance with codes and safety rules across clinics, labs, and other agency sites.

Six years of full-time electrician experience with at least one year in a supervisory role is required; NYC driver license is required.

Qualifications

• Six years of full-time satisfactory experience as an electrician, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
• At least four years of experience as an electrician/electrician helper with training to make up the equivalent, including one year in supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the complete operation of the electrical shop.
• Make decisions relative to work procedures.
• Prepare work schedules and make work assignments.
• Prepare Facilities Service Requests, tool and material requisitions.
• Make field inspections in connection with electrical installations and components of systems relative to work progress or need for alterations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Consult with staff personnel, contractors, inspectors, and manufacturers' representatives.
• Create and maintain records and reports.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Maintain all necessary records; write and submit reports as required.
