Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Electrical Superintendent - Energy Marshall to coordinate, plan, and supervise electrical activities across a project area. You will lead Assistant Superintendents, contractors, and craft teams, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires extensive HV/ MV experience, deep electrical knowledge, and strong leadership to mentor site personnel and interface with engineering teams. Travel is required; base pay reflects location and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience with high and medium voltage equipment and cable.
• Minimum 13 years supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in the installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of high and medium voltage cables.
• Knowledgeable about current injection, Hi-pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble, and other methods of cable and equipment testing.
• Working knowledge of electrical drawings, SCADA systems, underground duct banks, and substation construction.
• Current driver's license.
• 100% Travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical scope projects with high-quality installation, including underground cabling, overhead lines, and substation construction.
• Supervise the installation of the collection system and power grid connections to the distribution system.
• Provide drawing reviews and feedback with the engineering team, verifying material quality and workmanship.
• Partner with the Sr. Superintendent on formwork, equipment sizing, site utilization, and three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Ensure resources and supervise quality control of in-house and subcontracted work.
• Review trade partner work plans for safety under the Zero Injury Program.
• Attend project meetings coordinating field engineers and contractors to ensure compliance.
• Oversee safety metrics and OSHA reports; assist with major incident analysis.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and forepersons.
• Maintain relationships with visitors and handle union issues.
