Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Electrical Superintendent I to provide overall electrical expertise and supervision for project scopes from planning through closeout. You will oversee electrical subcontractors, ensure quality installations, and support site management in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality projects.

The role requires extensive HV experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
At least 12 years of experience with HV equipment and substations.
At least 13 years of supervisory experience.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards (NESC, NEC, IEEE, NEMA, OSHA).
Ability to understand wind turbine construction and code requirements.
Strong understanding of construction law and business practices.
Experience with HV cables installation, testing, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Coordinate electrical on-site work including underground cabling, overhead lines, and substation construction.
Review drawings, submittals, and specifications for quality and compliance.
Develop and maintain project schedules and 3-week look-aheads.
Supervise and ensure quality control for self-performed and subcontracted work.
Monitor subcontractor performance, safety, and resource planning.
Lead installation and termination of fiber optic cables.
Enforce Zero Injury Program and project quality standards.
Coach and mentor field personnel and assist with hiring decisions.
