Job summary

Leidos Engineering in Atlanta is seeking a Substation P&C Designer to create substation design drawing packages and relevant documents for 12kV–500kV projects. You will develop single-line diagrams, electrical schematics/elementaries, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts, plus battery loading and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical SDS.

The role requires 2+ years in substation protection & controls/electrical design with CAD, strong Windows proficiency, and the ability to work with cross-functional

Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct substation Protection & Controls / Electrical design experience using CAD on electric utility projects.
• Proficient with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel used to develop deliverables.
• Expertise with AutoCAD Electrical w/Substation Design Suite (SDS).

Responsibilities

• Develop new or modify existing Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, and Panel Layout Drawings.
• Complete battery loading and voltage drop studies.
• Develop a complete bill of materials for all electrical equipment and materials.
• Review equipment drawings from vendors and manufacturers.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to complete assignments.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and apply client, national, and state standards.
