Job summary
Schaeffler is seeking an Associate Electrical Software Design Engineer in Wooster, OH to design and commission control software for manufacturing automation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware, including Siemens PLCs and servo systems, and you will travel to sites for support.
Requirements include a Bachelor's in electrical/computer/controls engineering, advanced engineering knowledge, and strong systems integration skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or controls engineering.
- Advanced engineering & physics knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of systems integration strategies, concepts, and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Develop and commission control software for manufacturing automation processes.
- Cooperate with engineers from other disciplines to coordinate software interfaces.
- Develop control software and embedded systems for project realization.
- Software development in Siemens TIA Portal, Step7, Fanuc Robots, and machine vision systems.
- Hardware integration with Siemens 1500 PLCs, servo drive systems, and industrial networking (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet).
- Implement PID controls and manage power distribution systems.
- Travel to various sites for customer service support (up to 30%).
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations for industrial equipment.
