Job summary

Schaeffler is seeking an Associate Electrical Software Design Engineer in Wooster, OH. You will develop and commission control software for manufacturing automation, and design embedded systems for project realization, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Proficiency with Siemens TI/A Portal and Step7, Fanuc robots, and machine vision is valued, along with knowledge of industrial networking and safety codes. Some travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or controls engineering required.
• Advanced engineering & physics knowledge expected.
• Strong knowledge of systems integration strategies, concepts, and techniques.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of risk level assessment, codes, and regulations for industrial equipment safety.
• External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Associate Electrical Software Design Engineer in the Schaeffler Special Machinery (SMB) Department in Wooster, Ohio.
• Develop and commission control software for manufacturing automation processes.
• Coordinate software interfaces with engineers from other disciplines.
• Develop control software and embedded systems for project realization.
• Software development involving Siemens TI/A Portal, Step7, Fanuc Robots, Machine Vision, C/C#, and Microsoft Office.
• Hardware integration with Siemens 1500 PLCs, servo drives, and industrial networks (Profinet/Profibus/Ethernet).
• Travel to various sites for customer service support, up to 30% travel.
