Job description

Electrical Service Operations Project Manager

$90,000–$120,000 salary

Location: Kansas City, MO

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a well‑established electrical contractor that’s growing and needs a strong Service Project Manager to keep operations tight, crews productive, and customers taken care of across residential, commercial, and industrial service work. This is built for someone who’s already been in the electrical service world (not a "green" profile) and knows how to run work orders, coordinate teams, manage priorities, and protect quality, cost, and timeline—without things slipping through the cracks.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead the day‑to‑day administrative and customer service functions across residential, commercial, and industrial accounts
  • Keep communication clear and positive with employees, customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Oversee service crews and work orders to ensure efficiency, productivity, and cost control
  • Proactively manage team performance, scheduling, and safety practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability
  • Ensure high‑quality service delivery: on time, on budget, and done right
  • Develop and manage ongoing maintenance schedules for service accounts
  • Coordinate and schedule service work orders from start to finish
  • Collaborate across teams as priorities shift to meet evolving business needs
What They’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in the electrical service industry (no entry‑level / no green profiles)
  • Strong background supporting service operations across multiple customer types (residential, commercial, industrial)
  • Experience with business operations, customer service, and basic accounting principles
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple active work orders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
You’ll Also Bring
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, Life Safety, Uniform Building Codes, etc.)
  • Experience with electrical systems, permitting, maintenance programs, and facility management practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Why This Role Matters
  • You won’t just be managing projects—you’ll be owning the service execution and helping drive the customer experience
  • You’ll support and elevate service crews while keeping scheduling, cost control, and quality on track
  • You’ll be in a role with real impact on operational performance and profitability
