Position Summary
A growing electrical services organization is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Manager to lead and expand its electrical service operations throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth market.
This position is responsible for managing service technicians, customer relationships, dispatch coordination, field execution, safety, estimating support, service profitability, and overall department growth.
The successful candidate will have a strong commercial or industrial electrical service background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced service environment. The candidate must also hold the appropriate Texas electrical licensing and be willing and eligible to serve as the company’s Master Electrician of Record or qualifying license holder for electrical work performed in Texas.
Licensing Requirement
- Must be willing and eligible to serve as the company’s qualifying license holder or Master Electrician of Record, as required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
- Must meet all applicable requirements to qualify the company for electrical contracting work in Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day electrical service operations throughout the DFW market.
- Manage service technicians, apprentices, and field leadership.
- Oversee scheduling, dispatch coordination, manpower planning, and emergency service coverage.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, professionally, and in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company standards.
- Support estimating, proposal development, and pricing for electrical service work.
- Review job performance, labor productivity, material usage, job costs, and gross margin.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial, industrial, institutional, and facility-based customers.
- Grow service revenue through repeat business, customer follow-up, maintenance agreements, and new service opportunities.
- Ensure technicians complete accurate job documentation, including notes, photographs, material usage, and closeout information.
- Coordinate with accounting, operations, and leadership to support accurate billing and timely job closeout.
- Enforce company policies, safety expectations, quality standards, and customer service requirements.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of service personnel.
- Represent the organization professionally throughout the DFW and Texas markets.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness and eligibility to serve as the company’s Master Electrician of Record or qualifying license holder.
- Strong commercial and/or industrial electrical service experience.
- Previous experience managing electrical service technicians or field crews.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code, electrical troubleshooting, service work, and code compliance.
- Ability to estimate service repairs, tenant improvements, maintenance work, and small projects.
- Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs, technicians, and customer priorities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of labor productivity, service billing, job costing, and margin management.
- Demonstrated history of growing an electrical service department or operation.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Based in, or willing to work throughout, the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
- Willingness to travel as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established customer relationships within the DFW commercial or industrial market.
- Experience using service-management software, dispatch platforms, CRM systems, or project-management tools.
- Experience building or scaling an electrical service department.
- Background in maintenance agreements, facility services, emergency response, and small-project work.
- Experience managing department financial performance, including P&L, gross margin, labor utilization, and service KPIs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a licensed Texas electrical professional with proven leadership experience in commercial or industrial electrical service. This individual is comfortable managing multiple technicians, supporting customers, creating and reviewing estimates, resolving field challenges, and helping grow a service operation.
The successful candidate will be trustworthy, organized, safety-conscious, customer-focused, and willing to serve as the company’s qualifying electrical license holder in Texas.
