Job summary

NTH Consultants, Ltd. is seeking an Electrical Renewables Project Engineer based in Grand Rapids or Northville to lead bids, design, and management of utility-scale solar, BESS, and EV charging projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Michigan P.E. License or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Ability and desire to manage projects and own outcomes.
4+ years of experience in electrical power, renewable energy, construction, or industrial maintenance.
2+ years of design or project experience related to renewable energy, BESS, EV charging, or utility interconnection.
Experience preparing engineering proposals, fee estimates, schedules, or budgets.
Ability to read, understand, and create complex electrical drawings including one-lines, 3-lines, and control schematics.
Strong written and oral communication, teamwork, and client-interaction skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients to identify repeat work and opportunities.
Work safely and follow safety programs in industrial, utility, and construction environments.
Prepare and review contract documents, designs, and specifications for utility-scale PV, BESS, EV charging infrastructure, substations.
Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, plans, specifications, and reports.
Size and review approvals for electrical equipment.
Perform engineering analyses and modeling using Load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and grounding.
Prepare engineering proposals, work plans, and project pursuit evaluations.
Attend and lead project-related meetings; track metrics including schedule and invoicing.
Travel to customer sites for bid investigations and field support.
Mentor staff engineers; develop technical leadership in renewables.
Coordinate design with multidisciplinary team of engineers.
Support development of design standards, project management, and SOPs.
Be an early member of the NTH Electrical Division with growth potential.
