Job summary

NTH Consultants, Ltd. is seeking a Civil Engineer focused on site/civil design for solar energy projects in Michigan. You will prepare and review contract documents, designs, and specifications while supporting field and office activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Site/Civil Design from a 4-year accredited college or university.
• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam, EIT, or EIT required; Professional Registration or ability to attain in Michigan within 12 months preferred.
• 3+ years of solar energy and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) site development experience.
• Ability to support site civil package deliverables development with minimal oversight.
• Read and prepare design drawings and specifications for energy project site development with a focus on solar energy generation.
• Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication, teamwork, and ability to work independently; interpersonal skills for client interaction.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; field and office work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review contract documents, designs, and specifications for civil projects.
• Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, plans, technical specifications, and reports, including day to day correspondence.
• Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed site civil and development features.
• Prepare site design calculations and lead effort of project team.
• Perform a variety of engineering analyses and calculations, with and without engineering software.
• Develop design details and specify appropriate construction materials.
• Coordinate construction quality control services, conduct periodic site visits, and review daily field reports prepared by others.
