Healthcare Electrical & ICT Engineering
Heartline Staffing is recruiting an experienced Electrical / RCDD Engineer for a full-time engineering opportunity in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position requires both a current Professional Engineer license and RCDD credential, along with healthcare project experience and expertise in electrical power and low-voltage design.
This engineer will lead the research, development and production of electrical and low-voltage construction drawings for complex healthcare facilities. The role combines sophisticated power-distribution design with Information Communications Technology (ICT) expertise and project leadership from concept through completion.
COMPENSATION
HEALTHCARE ELECTRICAL DESIGN
- Lead electrical design for complex healthcare facilities
- Develop specialized hospital electrical and telecommunications systems
- Design and support emergency generator systems
- Design and support Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
- Design and support automatic transfer switch (ATS) systems
- Develop electrical and low-voltage construction drawings
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
- Perform arc-flash hazard analysis
- Perform short-circuit calculations
- Perform breaker coordination
- Perform medium-voltage distribution design
ICT & LOW-VOLTAGE SYSTEMS
- Develop and review specifications for Information Communications Technology (ICT) systems
- Define material requirements
- Establish performance criteria
- Define installation techniques in accordance with ANSI/TIA standards
CODE & STANDARDS COMPLIANCE
- Maintain compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC)
- Maintain compliance with NFPA 72 (Fire Alarm)
- Apply ANSI/TIA standards
- Apply applicable local building requirements
PROJECT LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION
- Lead projects from concept through completion
- Support delivery on time and within budget
- Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines
- Integrate power, lighting and low-voltage systems into the overall building design
- Provide technical guidance to designers and junior engineers
- Provide clear instructions and constructive feedback to support project success and professional growth

- Travel up to 20% based on project needs

Requirements
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) License REQUIRED
- Current RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credential REQUIRED
- NCEES Registration REQUIRED
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the A/E industry REQUIRED
- At least 2 years as a licensed professional REQUIRED
- Proven healthcare project experience REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university REQUIRED
- Proficiency in Revit REQUIRED
- Proficiency in AutoCAD REQUIRED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite REQUIRED
- U.S. Citizenship due to Federal Contractor status REQUIRED
- Ability to travel up to 20% based on project needs REQUIRED
- Ability to meet the Charlotte, NC in-office work requirement REQUIRED
