Electrical/RCDD Engineer
This critical role involves researching, developing, and producing electrical and low-voltage construction drawings while applying expertise in industry concepts, practices, and procedures, with potential consultation on complex projects. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and driven individual with a strong emphasis on critical thinking.
Salary Range
$110,000 - $160,000 Annually
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the design process from concept to conclusion, ensuring projects meet high standards, meet goals, and are delivered on time and under budget.
- Create novel and powerful designs that improve our clients' lives.
- Conduct extensive research and analysis to inform design decisions and find improvements.
- Comply with NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 72, ANSI/TIA, and local norms.
- Develop and review Electrical and ICT system specifications, including material requirements, installation techniques, and performance criteria.
- Develop hospital electrical and telecommunication systems with generators, UPSs, and transfer switches.
- Work with other disciplines to integrate electrical power, lighting, and low-voltage systems into the building design.
- Help designers and young engineers create electrical power, lighting, and ICT system designs, specifications, and documentation.
- Give designers clear instructions and helpful comments to help them complete design jobs.
- Show arc-flash computation and medium voltage distribution design knowledge.
- Correctly design using power distribution, three-phase systems, short circuit calculations, and breaker coordination.
- Challenge and motivate others to succeed and contribute.
- Seek professional growth and keep up with design trends and technologies.
- Promote ongoing learning and progress in the team.
Qualifications
- Current PE License (required); NCEES Registration; RCDD; LEED, CEM, or LC (Preferred)
- Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
- Minimum six years’ experience in the A/E industry plus at least two years licensed, with proven specific experience in healthcare projects.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite.
- Travel up to 20% depending on project.
