Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to oversee ITP implementation and ensure compliance with ASTM requirements across assigned sites.

The role involves coordinating with employees, external agencies, and consultants to verify materials and workmanship meet contract plans and building codes. Responsibilities include generating QA documentation, maintaining records, issuing NCRs, and approving material receipts.

Qualifications

• 5 years of work experience in the construction field.
• Able to navigate Code books and technical manuals.
• Proficient at understanding construction drawings.
• Familiarity with construction workplace health and safety concepts.
• Ability to use weld inspection tools and coatings inspection tools.
• Ability to verify materials using Material Test Reports (MTR’s).
• Background check and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Generate documentation to provide assurance of compliance to contract requirements, ITP’s and QA Manual.
• Maintain orderly, up-to-date and secure QA records.
• Ensure SOPs for Quality Control are followed and documented when required.
• Ensure materials, workmanship and construction comply with plans, specs, and codes.
• Generate Non Conformance Reports for non-compliant conditions.
• Approve receipt of materials per ASTM requirements.
• Accept or reject welds based on written criteria.
• Perform dimensional checks on materials as needed.
• Coach Craft in quality program processes.
