Responsibilities

  • Manage the electrical scope from preconstruction and procurement through installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Oversight of electrical subcontractors to ensure work aligns with contract documents, specs, schedule and quality.
  • Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, low-voltage, structural, architectural, and other scopes.
  • Manage electrical submittals, RFIs, procurement schedules, change orders, cost impacts, and subcontractor documentation.
  • Identify design conflicts and coordination issues before they impact field operations.
  • Coordinate sequencing with Superintendents and field leadership for inspections, shutdowns, energization, and major installation activities.
  • Monitor procurement and long-lead equipment (switchgear, transformers, generators, panels, etc.).
  • Participate in coordination meetings with owner, design team, subcontractors, and JV partners.
  • Track project costs, forecasts, commitments, change management, and financial performance for the electrical package.
  • Support testing, commissioning, inspections, punch lists, turnover, and final closeout.
  • Maintain focus on safety, quality, schedule, and successful project delivery

Job description

Our client, a well-established commercial General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join the project team for a large-scale commercial joint venture project in Dallas, TX.

This position will take ownership of the electrical scope on a major, technically complex construction project. The ideal candidate will come from a General Contractor or Construction Manager background and have experience managing significant electrical packages on large commercial, aviation, healthcare, convention center, higher education, stadium, or similarly complex projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with strong electrical knowledge who understands how to manage the full scope from a GC/CM perspective, coordinating closely with electrical trade partners, design teams, field leadership, ownership, and other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the electrical scope of work from preconstruction and procurement through installation, commissioning, and project closeout
  • Provide oversight of electrical subcontractors and ensure work is delivered in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, schedule, and quality standards
  • Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, low-voltage, structural, architectural, and other project scopes
  • Manage electrical submittals, RFIs, procurement schedules, change orders, cost impacts, and subcontractor documentation
  • Identify design conflicts, constructability concerns, and coordination issues before they impact field operations
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to coordinate sequencing, manpower, inspections, shutdowns, energization, and major installation activities
  • Monitor electrical procurement and long-lead equipment, including switchgear, transformers, generators, panels, and other critical electrical systems
  • Participate in coordination meetings with the owner, design team, subcontractors, and joint venture partners
  • Track project costs, forecasts, commitments, change management, and overall financial performance related to the electrical package
  • Support testing, commissioning, inspections, punch list, turnover, and final project closeout
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and successful project delivery
Qualifications
  • REQUIRED: 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably with a General Contractor or Construction Manager
  • REQUIRED: Demonstrated experience managing electrical scopes on large, complex commercial construction projects
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, drawings, specifications, coordination, procurement, and installation sequencing
  • Experience overseeing electrical subcontractors and managing significant electrical packages from the GC/CM side is strongly preferred
  • Background on projects such as aviation, convention centers, stadiums, healthcare, higher education, large civic/public facilities, or other technically complex commercial construction is highly desirable
  • Experience working within a joint venture or large, multi-stakeholder project environment is a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and subcontractor management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project management, field operations, design teams, ownership, and trade partners
