Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to lead project management and oversight of electrical systems across campus. The role collaborates with the Associate Director of Engineering to ensure safe, efficient operations for clinical, research, and administrative missions.

The position focuses on coordinating vendors, managing preventive maintenance, and developing electrical safety programs while fostering teamwork and adherence to high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Journeyman Electrician license, as required by state regulations.
• Work Experience: Five (5) years of experience in electrical project work, with special emphasis on low- and medium-voltage electrical system.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical feasibility studies, specifications, proposals, procurement, installation, and project management oversight of contractors.
• Represent the Facilities Management Department in new electrical system design and review.
• Serve as an advisor to departmental management on development, review, and implementation of projects and safety practices.
• Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and completion of maintenance projects involving building electrical systems.
