Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center seeks an Electrical Superintendent to oversee electrical systems and project work across the campus. You will manage feasibility studies, procurement, installation, and contractor oversight while ensuring safety and compliance in low- and medium-voltage environments.

You will lead project management activities, coordinate with vendors, and develop preventive maintenance strategies to keep facilities safe and reliable for clinical, research, and administrative

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Journeyman Electrician license required by state regulations.
• Five years of electrical project work experience with focus on low- and medium-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical project feasibility studies, specs, procurement, installation, and oversight of contractors.
• Represent FM in new electrical system design and review.
• Provide campus-wide electrical support to maintenance zones and teams.
• Develop and maintain an electrical safety program for staff and contractors.
• Monitor budget and expenditures; support prioritization of projects to control variances.
• Lead or contribute to training on system hardware, software, and safety.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of electrical systems across campus.
