Job summary

BSEG (Building Systems Engineering Group) is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our electrical engineering team in a hybrid work environment. The role targets an engineer with 5–10 years in the MEP consulting field, capable of leading electrical designs from concept through construction.

Responsibilities include developing electrical designs, coordinating with clients and project teams, and delivering projects within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering for buildings.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong experience in the design of building electrical systems.
• Ability to independently develop electrical designs and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in projects from initial design through construction.
• Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and controls, emergency power, generators, UPS, fire alarm and communications.
• Develop and manage assigned designs with independence, QA/QC support, and mentor junior staff.
• Prepare electrical calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs, with field observations as needed.
• Participate in client meetings and coordinate with architects, owners, contractors and other disciplines.
• Assist with proposals, project scopes and engineering fee estimates.
