Job summary

Invenergy LLC, headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Project Engineer, Electrical Engineering, to lead electrical design and construction for cutting-edge Thermal generation projects. You will support internal teams and external firms to finalize detailed design packages, covering generator, switchgear, transformers, and interconnections to the grid.

The role requires implementing electrical energy studies, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with suppliers and construction contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience, including internships.
• Knowledge of power systems through coursework or internships.
• Understanding of HV/MV electrical infrastructure and substations.
• Familiarity with electrical industry standards and codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Up to 25% travel; valid driver’s license; US work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project-specific construction, engineering, and equipment specifications.
• Assist in analyzing conceptual designs to meet interconnection requirements and RFQ specs.
• Prepare and validate electrical energy calculations.
• Review electrical drawings for balance of plant, switchyard, and transmission lines.
• Define scope of electrical system studies and verify results for accuracy.
• Track design schedules and keep stakeholders updated on critical dates.
