Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. is seeking an on-site Project Engineer (Electrical) in Lakeland, FL to manage all phases from planning to completion.

You will develop designs using SolidWorks, prepare BOMs, and collaborate with customers and contractors to insure timely, safe, and compliant project delivery. The role requires 5–7 years SolidWorks Designer experience, strong PLC and control systems knowledge, and proven project management skills in manufacturing or industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or a related field, required.
• 5–7 years of SolidWorks Designer or similar experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical software and related design tools.
• 3–5 years in electrical design, industrial systems, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, and control systems.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge and strong project management abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets based on project goals and objectives.
• Manage project execution to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Develop electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control layouts.
• Support integration of electrical components into assemblies, machinery, and automation systems.
• Monitor project progress and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate drawings for inventory, production maps, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Lead design reviews and implement approved improvements.
• Create prototypes and conduct testing to verify designs meet requirements.
• Maintain documentation for designs and modifications.
