Electrical Project Engineer - On-Site Coordination

Job summary

Tri-City Electrical Contractors Inc. in Florida seeks a Project Engineer 1 to assist in planning, development, and coordination of on-site electrical construction activities for large projects.

This role is a key technical position on projects and may involve multiple projects of varying sizes and complexity. The position requires experience with electrical system design, reading and interpreting plans, strong computer skills, and the ability to coordinate with estimating and accounting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in electrical system design, engineering, or installation.
• Strong knowledge of electrical system design and operation.
• Experience with contract documents (contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, specifications, and change orders).
• Experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications, and applicable Local and National Electrical Code requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop coordination and electrical layout drawings.
• Coordinate with Estimating to quote change orders and with accounting to ensure accurate job information is available to management.
• Assist in the review of shop drawings to ensure their compliance with contract documents.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall schedule.
• Provide technical support for construction planning and design, interpretation of design and specs, and constructible reviews.
• Develop, implement, and administer standard procedures and other work-controlling documents.
• Represent the company, project, and/or department during A/E, client, and project management meetings.
• Communicate with all on-site departments to resolve any problems.
• Ensure the project stays on schedule while following safety and quality guidelines and TCE policies and procedures.
