Job summary

Tri-City Electrical Contractors Inc. seeks a Project Engineer 1 to assist in planning, development, and coordination of on-site electrical activities for large projects.

You will be a key technical member on multiple projects, ensuring coordination with design, estimation, and management teams. The role requires evaluating shop drawings, supporting construction planning, and maintaining schedule adherence while upholding safety and quality policies.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in electrical system design, engineering, or installation.
• Knowledge of electrical system design and operation.
• Understanding of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
• Experience with contract documents (drawings, subcontracts, specs, change orders).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and NEC requirements.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to read/write/speak English at a 12th-grade level.
• Valid Florida drivers license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Develop coordination and electrical layout drawings.
• Coordinate with Estimating to quote change orders and with accounting for accurate job info.
• Review shop drawings for contract compliance.
• Ensure engineering activities support the schedule and meet requirements.
• Provide technical support for construction planning and design and resolve design conflicts.
• Develop and administer standard procedures and control documents.
• Represent the company in meetings with clients and project teams.
• Communicate with on-site departments to resolve problems.
• Keep the project on schedule while following safety and quality guidelines.
