Job summary

JB is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Electrical Department in our New York office. You will manage electrical projects from design through completion, collaborating across disciplines, communicating with clients, and ensuring technical excellence alongside project financial goals.

You will lead tenant fit-out and base building design, assemble contract documents, coordinate with trades, and support schedules to meet deadlines on high-profile projects in NYC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 3–6 years of experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in design calculations and software (Revit, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of trade-specific scope and codes; coordination with other trades.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for Tenant fit-out projects and base building upgrades; assembles riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans; participates in specification writing.
• Assemble basis of design documents and design criteria from project proposals.
• Assemble complete contract documents for the trade including layouts of main equipment rooms and shafts.
• Lead design for ancillary systems (UPS, generators, pumps, etc.) and coordinate related drawings.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, change orders; perform site visits and punch-lists with limited supervision.
