Job summary

JB is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Electrical department at our New York office. The role is hands-on, leading design on base-building and tenant-fit-out projects, coordinating with trades, and guiding project teams to meet deadlines.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. The position offers hybrid work, competitive compensation, and opportunities across diverse iconic projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of trade-specific scope of project and codes.
• Proficient in design calculations and software (Revit and AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Leads design on Tenant fit-out projects and base building/infrastructure upgrades; assembles diagrams, schedules, and floor plans; participates in specifications writing.
• Establishes design criteria from the project proposal and prepares basis of design documents.
• Assembles contract documents for the trade including layout of main equipment rooms, closets, and risers.
• Leads design for ancillary systems (UPS, generators, pumps, water systems) and coordinates with related drawings.
• Reviews shop drawings and RFIs, conducts site visits and punch lists to verify design implementation.
• Helps establish an efficient project schedule and ensures tasks meet deadlines.
• Monitors progress and accountability across the project team.
