Job summary

Jaros, Baum & Bolles in New York seeks a technically skilled Project Engineer to join the Electrical Department. You will manage electrical projects from design through completion, collaborating across disciplines and communicating with clients to ensure technical excellence and financial goals.

The role emphasizes leading design for tenant fit-outs and base building upgrades, coordinating with trades, and delivering complete contract documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required.
• 3-6 years of experience required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required.
• Strong understanding of trade-specific scope, codes, and coordination with other trades.
• Proficiency in design calculations and software tools.

Responsibilities

• Leads design on tenant fit-out projects and bases building/ infrastructure upgrades; assembles riser diagrams, schedules and floor plans; assists in specification writing.
• Assembles basis of design documents and design criteria from the project proposal.
• Produces complete contract documents for the trade including layout of main equipment rooms, closets, shafts, and risers.
• Leads design for ancillary systems (UPS, generators, fuel oil, pumps, water systems) for the project.
• Reviews shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor changes; conducts site visits and punch-lists with limited supervision.
• Assists in creating an efficient project schedule to optimize resources and meet deadlines.
