Job summary

TKDA, an employee-owned, multi-disciplinary engineering and design firm, seeks a Professional Electrical Engineer to design power, lighting, and signal systems for office buildings and industrial facilities. Join our Facilities Engineering team in Bloomington, MN, collaborating with architectural, civil, and structural teams on diverse projects.

The role involves creating site and panel schedules, 208/120 and 480/277V designs, supporting construction administration, and up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE registration in Minnesota or ability to obtain within 12–18 months.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in power, lighting, and signal design for commercial/industrial facilities.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment: panel boards, transformers, lighting, fire alarm, security, and data systems.
• Design experience with 208/120 and 480/277 volt systems.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering scope on projects, developing site, power, lighting, and signal plans.
• Prepare one-lines, panel boards, conduit/cable schedules, and details.
• Support construction administration, review shop drawings, answer contractor questions.
• Ensure site work matches plans and specs.
