Job summary

TKDA is seeking a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design for industrial facilities and site power distribution, lighting, and controls. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, and Structural teams, and support proposal development and client presentations under the Seller-Doer approach.

Flexible arrangement: 3 days in office (Tue-Thu), 2 days WFH; location preferred in Bloomington, MN, with other TKDA offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• PE with 10+ years of progressive technical design experience in industrial facility/site power distribution, lighting, and control/signal systems.
• 2+ years managing electrical or multi-disciplined projects with service fees exceeding $300,000/year.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, and MS Office.
• Experience coordinating design standards across disciplines (Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Structural).
• Construction administration experience, including observation and inspection.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable writing specs, preparing reports, and leading project discussions.
• Ability to travel up to 15% for meetings, consultations, and site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Scope and lead the electrical engineering side of projects, developing site plans, power/signal/lighting plans, equipment layouts, and reports.
• Support construction administration, interpret plans, observe construction, and confirm conformance to plans and specs.
• Mentor less experienced team members and help develop the next generation of engineers.
• Lead engineering and design teams, owning technical, quality, financial, and safety aspects from concept through construction.
• Partner with management on proposal development, client relationships, opportunity tracking, and client presentations.
