Job summary

TKDA, an employee‑owned multidisciplinary firm, seeks a Professional Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical designs for diverse facilities from our Bloomington, MN office. You’ll coordinate with multiple disciplines on projects across education, government, and industry, guiding from concept to construction.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years’ experience, MN PE or eligibility, NEC/Mn Building Code proficiency, and strong Revit/AutoCAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and PE licensure or ability to obtain within 12–18 months.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in power, lighting, and signal system design for gov/edu/industrial facilities.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment: panels, transformers, lighting, fire alarm, data systems.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and Minnesota Building Code (incl. Energy Code/ASHRAE 90.1).
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with SKM, ETAP, LightStanza or Visual Lighting.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of complex electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.
• Manage electrical design from concept through construction; respond to RFI and review shop drawings.
• Support construction administration and site visits to ensure code compliance.
• Coordinate layouts with architects, mechanical and structural engineers.
