Job summary

TKDA seeks a Professional Electrical Engineer to lead the design of complex electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities from our Bloomington, Minnesota office. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on projects across industrial, education, government, municipal, aviation, and rail markets.

As a Project Engineer, you will manage design from concept to construction, ensuring safe, reliable systems while meeting code requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Minnesota or ability to obtain within 12–18 months.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in power, lighting, and signal system design for government, educational and industrial facilities.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment including panel boards, transformers, lighting, fire alarm, security, and data systems.
• Strong NEC and Minnesota Building Code knowledge (Energy Code / ASHRAE 90.1).
• High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, LightStanza, or Visual Lighting.
• Strong MS Office skills and ability to coordinate with architects and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept through construction to deliver safe, reliable systems.
• Support construction administration via contractor questions, shop drawing reviews, and site observations.
