Job summary

TKDA in Bloomington, MN seeks a Professional Electrical Engineer to lead design of complex electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural professionals on diverse facility projects across markets such as education, government, municipal, aviation, and more.

The role manages electrical design from concept through construction, ensuring safe, reliable systems and code compliance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE in Minnesota or ability to obtain within 12-18 months.
• 4+ years in power, lighting, and signal design for facilities.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment layouts.
• Strong NEC and Minnesota Building Code knowledge.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, LightStanza, Visual Lighting.
• MS Office suite proficiency.
• Coordination with architects and engineers.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept through construction.
• Develop safe, reliable, efficient systems meeting client needs.
• Support construction administration: respond to questions, review shop drawings, observe site work.
