Job summary

QTS Realty Trust in Duluth, GA is seeking a Development Project Engineer – Electrical to support design, preconstruction and construction activities on data center projects. You will collaborate with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, and Operations staff and communicate complex technical information clearly.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, experience with data center electrical systems, NEC knowledge, and coordination of SCCAF studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of NEC and other electrical industry standards.
• Experience with data center design, construction, operations, and facility maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review drawing packages for adherence to design standards.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure designs meet standards and local code requirements.
• Define project scope with stakeholders and communicate requirements to the design team.
• Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams to address RFIs and value engineering queries.
• Review OFCI equipment submittals for compliance with design criteria.
• Support resolution of design issues during construction and commissioning.
• Coordinate with strategic procurement on equipment procurement.
• Develop and review Short Circuit, Coordination, and Arc Flash studies for design adherence.
• Travel up to 10% of the time.
