Job summary

QTS Data Centers seeks an Development Project Engineer – Electrical to support design, preconstruction, and construction activities on data center projects. You will interact with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers, and Operations staff to ensure standards and codes are met.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or equivalent, with experience in data centers and NEC knowledge. Travel up to 10% is expected, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities at QTS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with design standards, NEC basics, and data center environments.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings for adherence to design standards.
• Collaborate with design teams to meet local code and AHJ requirements.
• Define project scope and communicate requirements to the team.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk teams on RFIs and VE queries.
• Review OFCI equipment submittals for compliance with criteria.
• Support design issues during construction and commissioning phases.
• Assist with equipment procurement and SCCAF studies.
• Travel up to 10%.
