Job summary

Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. (a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc.) is seeking a Project Engineer to support construction management for electrical projects across the United States.

You will help prepare plans, specifications, and submittals while interfacing with senior project management professionals. This role requires 1–3 years of construction experience and a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, with strong reading of blueprints and proficiency in MS Office, MS Project or

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in the construction process of commercial electrical operations or general construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Interpret applicable construction drawings.
• Assist with reviewing plans and specifications and prepare a checklist of contract features requiring attention.
• List items sub-contractors must submit for approval prior to start of work.
• Assist with cost estimates and project scheduling as needed.
• Ensure maintenance of accurate records.
• Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management and daily/weekly reporting.
• Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Inspect equipment, material, workmanship and finished construction.
• Check progress of work in the field.
• Observe work in progress to ensure procedures are followed and materials conform to specifications.
• Regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Essential functions performed in a Company-designated office or field location.
• Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.
