Job summary

Forest Electric NY is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to develop and manage detailed 3D models of electrical systems for commercial projects using Revit and AutoCAD. The role requires coordinating with mechanical, plumbing and structural teams to ensure seamless integration and clash detection.

The candidate will attend on-site and virtual coordination meetings with the General Contractor, prepare detailed installation drawings, and verify code compliance and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a high-volume contractor design/drafting environment.
• Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed 3D models of electrical systems for commercial projects using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with other trades (MEP, structural) for proper integration and clash detection in Navisworks.
• Attend on-site and virtual coordination meetings with General Contractor and other trades.
• Create detailed installation drawings for all electrical system components including equipment and supports.
• Verify drawings and installations comply with applicable codes and specifications.
• Perform electrical load calculations, ampacity adjustments, and voltage drop analyses.
