Job summary

MTS Systems Corporation in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking an Electrical Product Engineer to support and deliver servo hydraulic motion controllers, including FlexTest controllers and associated software. You will collaborate with mechanical and software teams to deliver complete system solutions and support field service engineers.

This role welcomes recent graduates and experienced engineers alike. You will prepare BOMs, drawings, and quotes, coordinate with vendors on specs and costs, and

Qualifications

• 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or related program.
• Open to recent graduates; industry experience a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking with a ground up problem-solving approach.
• Strong interpersonal skills and eagerness to learn.
• Experience with servo hydraulic systems preferred.
• Experience with SAP, AutoCAD Electrical, or other electrical CAD software preferred.
• Experience in an engineering related position, automation and controls, or as a Field Service Engineer or Electrical CAD professional preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define FlexTest controllers for new systems and field upgrades.
• Create documentation for Operations to build/test controllers and support Field Service Engineers.
• Provide quote support to Applications Engineer/Sales; review quotes for accuracy.
• Work with Applications and Sales Engineering to modify quotes as needed.
• Develop bills of materials and drawings for new controller systems and upgrades.
• Coordinate with vendors on specs, schedule, and cost to support projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to deliver complete system solutions.
• Support new product development programs with electrical content from definition to launch.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to installation and quote quality.
• Monitor and engage with manufacturing and checkout operations.
• Provide technical support for the FlexTest product.
• Apply electrical engineering principles to support solutions.
