Job summary
PPG is seeking an Electrical Control Engineer to join the Delaware, Ohio manufacturing facility onsite. You will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of process control and safety systems supporting chemical and specialty materials production.
You will partner with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve reliability, yield, and efficiency while owning instrumentation and automation projects from design
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years in industrial manufacturing or chemical process environment.
- Hands-on PLC programming, HMI development and VFD experience.
- Experience with process instrumentation in industrial settings.
- Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control drawings.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for 24/7 manufacturing operations related to process control, safety systems, instrumentation, DCS, and PLCs.
- Troubleshoot control systems and automation issues using data analysis.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities for control and electrical systems.
- Support yield improvement, efficiency optimization, and reliability projects.
- Lead installation, commissioning, and startup of instrumentation and automation projects, including capital programs, on time and within budget.
