Job summary

Dynalectric San Diego is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead all preconstruction activities for electrical construction projects from pursuit through turnover. The role delivers accurate, competitive estimates and ensures alignment of scope, budget, and execution strategy, acting as a bridge between clients, design teams, and internal operations.

The position requires coordinating design, budgeting, and takeoffs while mentoring junior staff and maintaining pricing updates for bids.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years estimating/preconstruction experience or 5+ years in construction.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor of Science in engineering or construction field desirable.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Attend estimating and project meetings; discuss bid status and proposals.
• Perform takeoffs, cost estimates, and pricing for multiple projects.
• Analyze drawings and specs to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, owners, and subs to refine bids.
• Prepare scope letters and proposals; manage bid documentation.
• Supervise junior staff and manage internal pricing processes.
