Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC's Global Energy Sustainability & Automation Electrical Engineering team seeks a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to oversee installation and upgrades of electrical power systems at facilities across North America. The TIPM will manage the full lifecycle from project identification to implementation, partnering with engineers and contractors.

You will lead design, estimates, ROI calculations, funding, and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
• Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software).
• Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
• 5+ years of distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent mechanical or electrical field experience.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including switchgear, UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• In-depth knowledge of power system analysis tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Identify sites and develop conceptual designs for upgrades of low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Partner with outside electrical engineering firms and electrical contractors to implement compliant solutions.
• Perform project estimates and financial ROI calculations.
• Secure and oversee funding of projects/programs.
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Support operations, construction, and other relevant departments with product development and testing.
• Conduct equipment failure investigations and provide mitigation solutions.
• Monitor trends in electrical system reports and drive improvements or corrective actions.
• Travel up to 50% to facilities across North America.
• Provide 3–4 weeks annually of on-call electrical engineering support.
