Job summary

Core States Group seeks an Electrical Project Engineer to support our Architecture and Engineering business unit and Power Systems team. The role focuses on end-of-life analyses, short circuit coordination, arc flash analyses, and related calculations within building power systems.

You will produce construction documents and coordinate with site, civil, mechanical, and architectural teams. Hybrid work is available with preference for NJ/Somerville or other US offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems design, preferably with commercial projects.
• PE license required.
• Revit required.
• AutoCAD and SKM PowerTools is a plus.
• Familiar with equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, generators, VFDs, UPS.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical design plans, calculations, reports, and construction documents with limited direction.
• Resolve complex electrical design challenges related to power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, code compliance, constructability, and coordination with other disciplines.
• Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations.
• Generate reports and recommendations based on findings.
• Coordinate the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
• Develop and mentor electrical engineering staff through technical guidance, project feedback, and support of professional growth.
• Lead production staff through assigned tasks and review work for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and quality.
• Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfil the objectives of this role.
