Job summary

ExxonMobil’s Permian Power Team in Midland, TX is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to ensure reliable power for drilling rigs, compressors, and related equipment. You will plan, design, build, and maintain electrical infrastructure to support growing business demands.

Based in Midland, you will work with cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and coordinate with external providers to maintain power availability and meet corporate net-zero ambitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2+ years experience as an electrical power systems engineer in oil & gas, utility, mining, or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills including load flow, voltage regulation, harmonics, protective relay coordination.
• Selection & specification of electrical systems and equipment such as transformers, switchgear, reclosers, protective relays, HV/MV power cables.
• Project Management experience including management of third party engineering firms.

Responsibilities

• Interface with cross functional teams to understand field development plans and develop load forecasts.
• Manage multiple projects with moderate complexity, including options analysis/selection, design, AFE management, procurement, drawings creation, construction support, commissioning support/start-up and post start-up modifications.
• Evaluate electrical transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure to determine modifications and new infrastructure needed.
• Monitor, assess, and correct power quality issues through the electrical infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis on electrical related failures and provide corrective actions guidance.
• Work with external electrical service providers to ensure power availability.
