Job summary

ExxonMobil’s Permian Power Team in Midland, TX is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to help plan, design, build and maintain electrical infrastructure that supports drilling rigs, gas compressors, and related equipment. The role emphasizes reliability, power quality and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet growing energy demands.

You will analyze load forecasts, manage multiple projects, and work with external providers to ensure power availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2+ years experience as an electrical power systems engineer designing or supporting medium and/or high voltage equipment in oil & gas, utility, mining, or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills including load flow, voltage regulation, harmonics and protective relays.
• Selection & specification of electrical systems and equipment such as transformers, switchgear and protective relays.
• Project Management experience including management of third party engineering firms.

Responsibilities

• Interface with cross functional teams to understand field development plans and develop load forecasts.
• Manage multiple projects with moderate complexity; engineering support includes options analysis/selection, design, AFE management, procurement, drawings creation, construction support and start-up modifications.
• Evaluate transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure to determine modifications or new required for loads.
• Monitor, assess, and correct power quality issues through the electrical infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures and provide corrective actions.
• Coordinate with external electrical service providers to ensure power availability.
