Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for the Permian Power Team in Midland, TX. You will plan, design, build, and maintain electrical infrastructure to support growing load from drilling rigs, pumps, and substations.

The role focuses on power system analysis, load forecasting, and coordinating with external providers to ensure reliable power. ABET-accredited degree and 2+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2+ years experience as an electrical power systems engineer designing or supporting medium/high voltage equipment in oil & gas, utility, mining, or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills including load flow, voltage regulation, harmonics, protective relay coordination.

Responsibilities

• Interface with cross functional teams to understand field development plans and develop load forecasts.
• Manage multiple projects with moderate complexity including options analysis, design, AFE management, procurement, drawings creation, construction support, commissioning, and post-start-up modifications.
• Evaluate electrical transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure to determine modifications and new infrastructure needs.
• Monitor and correct power quality issues through the electrical infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures and guide corrective actions.
• Coordinate with external electrical service providers to ensure power availability.
