Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United States is seeking an Electrical Project Manager for a major data center construction project. The role oversees the general contractor’s activities and reports schedule status to the project owner, bringing field-tested electrical expertise and leadership.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in electrical engineering or related field, 5+ years in electrical project management, and experience with substation, power distribution, and commissioning processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, ideally in data center construction or with an electrical contractor.
• Experience with substation and power distribution systems preferred.
• Familiarity with MEP design.
• Proficiency in project management tools.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1-5).
• Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E's, equipment submittals and RFIs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other construction project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.
• Provide clear communication across internal teams to ensure efficient delivery to the client.
• Monitor and manage critical milestone activities to prevent schedule slip.
• Ensure governance, processes and systems are applied.
• Produce formal project status reports and other required reports.
• Monitor multiple construction projects to ensure design standards are applied correctly.
• Coordinate interfaces between all suppliers via trackers and reviews.
• Maintain project information flow through meetings and written communications.
• Forecast and update key project milestones.
• Manage local design teams per commission criteria.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, contractors and regional stakeholders.
• Respond rapidly to RFIs from the field.
• Provide expertise on cost control, value engineering, and constructability.
