Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain State Inspector and Plans Examiner license in Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical or 1-2 Family, or meet FS 468 requirements.
• Must obtain standard licenses within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of new/existing buildings for compliance with codes and approved plans.
• Inspect single-family, multi-family, commercial, and industrial buildings; identify violations.
• Review building permits, site plans, and construction documents for completeness and conformance.
• Provide information on permit process, fees, and refer applicants to required departments.
• Maintain documentation of inspections and violations; communicate findings clearly.
