Job summary

Lighthouse Electric Company, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Planning/Layout/Design Specialist to lead layout and design coordination on commercial and industrial electrical projects.

You will participate in planning, pre-fabrication, and construction, producing detailed layouts and ensuring alignment with documents and BIM workflows. The role requires 5+ years of field construction experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with proficiency in 2D/3D document interpretation and tools

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years field construction experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Experience collaborating with project teams and stakeholders
• Proficient in reading and understanding all forms of construction documents
• Ability to interpret 2D plans and provide input to a 3D model

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular contact with project personnel and design/subcontractor teams
• Outline job specifications and review material submittals to meet project requirements
• Support preconstruction, pre-fabrication, and construction teams on electrical systems
• Create detailed layout drawings adhering to company standards
• Identify quality improvements and labor-saving opportunities in layout processes
