Job summary

Lighthouse Electric Company, Inc. in Columbus, OH seeks a Planning/Layout/Design Specialist to plan, layout, design, coordinate and pre-fabricate on projects. You will use electrical knowledge, construction documents, and quality workmanship to support preconstruction and field teams.

Responsibilities include creating detailed layout drawings, reviewing submittals, aiding BOM creation, and educating field personnel on layout processes. Travel is local with some outbound travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years field construction experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding all forms of construction documents.
  • Ability to interpret 2D plans and provide input to a 3D model.

  • Maintains regular contact with project personnel as well as professional relationships with designers, owners, and subcontractors
  • Outlines job specifications and reviews material submittals for project requirements

Position Summary

The Planning/Layout/Design Specialist is involved in the planning, layout, design, coordination and pre-fabrication on projects. This person has a thorough knowledge of electrical systems, construction documents, and quality construction work practices.

Key Responsibilities

Additional Requirements

Pre‑employment drug screen required. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Travel is primarily local during the business day, with some out‑of‑area and overnight travel expected.
