Lighthouse Electric Company, Inc. is seeking a Planning/Layout/Design Specialist in Canonsburg, PA to contribute to planning, layout, and design on major electrical projects.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction documents and 2D/3D model interpretation, with experience in BIM tools and coordination with project teams. The position emphasizes preconstruction, pre-fabrication, and optimization of layouts, with opportunities to improve standards and workflows while collaborating

Qualifications

• Candidates should be able to read and interpret 2D/3D construction documents.
• Proficient with BIM tools and coordination software (BIM360, Navisworks, Revit).
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains regular contact with project personnel and coordination with designers, owners, and subcontractors.
• Outlines job specifications and reviews material submittals for project requirements.
• Supports preconstruction, pre-fabrication and construction teams with electrical/systems/ construction related issues.
• Aids in the creation of detailed bill of materials.
• Educates field personnel on layout/design processes and supports project efforts.
• Creates detailed layout drawings adhering to company standards.
• Seeks ways to infuse quality and labor savings into layouts and workflows.
• Communicates ideas for continuous improvement in standards and workflows.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
